At Living Water Life Coaching, we offer face-to-face pastoral counseling services with a professional life coach who can provide the spiritual coaching and spiritual mentoring you’re seeking. Our pastoral counseling services are Christian counseling, provided by a professional life coach team who hold Masters or Doctorate degrees, offering the coaching and mentoring you’re looking for on your spiritual walk. Our pastoral counselors are not normally licensed by the state and do not provide psychotherapy. Our pastoral counselors offer Christian life coaching -- biblical counsel using a trained listening ear, and teaching in life skills that have been demonstrated by helping people who struggle with emotional and relational problems. They help people via spiritual coaching and spiritual mentoring, and with spiritual formation on their Christian walk. These lifecoaching skills are taught by a Christian life coach, gifted in bringing healing to hearts and homes. |

What Is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is the process of accompanying people on a spiritual journey. Spiritual direction exists in a context of spiritual formation that emphasizes growing closer to God who has revealed Himself in Jesus.
Within Christianity, spiritual direction has its roots in the Early Church. The gospels describe Jesus serving as a mentor to his disciples. Additionally, Acts 9 describes Ananias helping Paul of Tarsus to grow in his newfound experience of Christianity. Apollos is aided by Priscilla and Aquila in defining his spiritual path.
Likewise, several of Pauline Epistles describe Paul mentoring both Timothy and Titus among others. Tradition tells that John the Evangelist tutored Polycarp, the second-century bishop of Smyrna.
John Cassian who lived in the fourth century provided some of the earliest recorded guidelines on the practice of spiritual direction. He introduced spiritual coaching and spiritual mentoring in the monasteries. Each novice was put under the care of an older monk.
